Museum’s time machine

1884- Regional archeological museum of Istria, the first museum in Istria. Its activity was closely bend to the Society for Archeology and national History, led by dr. A. Amoroso.

1926- opened the City Museum of Arts and History in the Istrian parliament building under the direction of R.M. Cossar.

1943- a fire destroyed part of the Museum's collections while many objects were damaged. The fire and war disrupted the Museum's activity.

1952- after World War II, the Museum reopened under the name District museum of Poreč, situated in the baroque palace Sinčić. Dr. Ante Šonje was nominated director, he marked the Museum's afterwar activities.

1983- the Museum gets incorporated in the People's University Poreč, later Open University Poreč.

2008- the museum acts as independent institution under the name Musem of the Poreč territory
