1914: Joakim Rakovac was born in the village of Rakovci close to Baderna

1942: After leaving the Italian army he started to work actively on the empowering of the national liberation movement in the Poreč area

1943: In February he founded the local people's liberation movement that signed its expansion throughout the Istrian territory. From the beginning, he covered the role of president. In May he became member of the Croatian Communist party. During Italy's capitulation, along with a group of young fighters, he disarmed garrisons in Borut and Cerovlje and later participated in the liberation of Pazin and Poreč. The district comitee decided to annex Istria to Croatia on the 13th of September 1943 and on the 25th – 26th of September people's representatives formed the National Liberation Movement in Pazin. For the Istrian district, Rakovac was appointed president. They decided about the secession of Istria from Italy and it's conjunction to Yugoslavia.

1944: After the attack of German soldiers in October, Rakovac continued to be active. He became member of the armed comitee of the Communist party of Croatia, was member of the terrestrial council of the popular liberation of Croatia and took part to its third meeting in Topusko in 1944.

1945: died in German attacks of Korenići near Lim on the 11th of January 1945.
